AK in my Pamphlet!

I've had the same Wahl clipper for some time now, but I never had a reason to read through the insert. Today it fell out of the case so I decided to give it a gander. To my delight the hair model in the pamphlet was Adrian! Very humorous surprise.

CNN Travel Highlights Charleston

9 great Memorial Day getaways

Charleston, South Carolina: For high art with Southern hospitality
WHY GO THIS WEEKEND: One of the earliest observances of Memorial Day was by a group of freed slaves and took place weeks after the Civil War ended in 1865 in Charleston's Hampton Park.
Today, the world-renowned Spoleto Festival starts its two-week run this weekend, filling the historic city's theaters, churches, and outdoor spaces with opera, theater, jazz, symphonies, choruses, and visual arts. Highlights this year include the Mozart opera The Magic Flute; Hans Christian Andersen's The Red Shoes, performed by the U.K.'s innovative Kneehigh Theatre Group; and Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves. Tickets can be purchased on a per-event basis, with prices ranging from $10 to $130.
WHERE TO STAY: Rooms can be hard to come by during Spoleto, so for last-minute travelers, we recommend Lodge Alley Inn, a time-share that rents its unreserved rooms starting seven days in advance. It's an old Masonic temple with choices of a studio or a one- or two-bedroom condo, all with kitchenettes. From $194,bluegreenonline.com. Alternately, you can stay across the river at the Hampton Inn in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. It's a short drive to downtown over the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, and the rates are more affordable than those in the city center. From $159 per night, hamptoninn.hilton.com.
EASY GETAWAY FROM: Atlanta; Charlotte, North Carolina; Miami; Washington, D.C.

Street Sleeper

Windsurfing at Sully's

Sullivan's Island is definitely not known for its waves, but a new trend has been adapted across the Cooper, windsurfing. I've been hit up Sullivan's a few times this year for the beach. I love Folly, but the traffic and is very annoying in James Island. A pleasant ride over the Ravenel Bridge and a straight shot down Coleman Blvd takes you right to the beach, so why not. Especially if I only plan to stay for a couple hours.

National Bike Month..Get out and Ride

National bike month is being celebrated all over the nation and with a huge push to become a more bicycle friendly community, Charleston has a few events I am attending. This Friday the ride over the river is sure to turn a descent crowd and hopefully make some noise with city planning. It will not be a ride to work for me, but I use this bridge almost everyday. From my house downtown this is my normal route to the gym just across the river. The ride over the bridge is notoriously sketchy. The bridge allots for only one narrow path riders have to share to and from, with traffic whizzing quite close it's always a relief to complete the crossing. More recently advocates have petitioned the city to eliminate one lane of traffic to dedicate to pedestrians of all types. The point of this ride from West Ashley to MUSC downtown is to bring awareness about how many individuals actually use or would use this lane if it was pedestrian friendly. Hopefully the city takes notice when a two wheel mob led by a police escort make its ways across the river Friday.

Bubbles at Social

It has been some time since I've even walked through the threshold of this place, but in a moment of weakness while looking for dinner downtown I was had. Wood fired pizza, spring rolls, chicken satay, and bubbles all for $3 a piece! They possibly hold the best happy hour in town.

Royal Wedding Fever

I know it's been about five months to get these up, but in my defense I had about 3,000 pictures to sift through.

Michael and Tara's wedding held at Dunes West, Mt Pleasant SC. The ceremony was held outside and the reception took place indoors.

A badass crew here. Roy(Gay's dad), Greg, Me, Gay, Frank, Ryan. All his buddies made the trip down from NY.

Tara flaunting her stuff.

Who taught him how to dance so well?
