Sunday Funday.. In Full Swing!

After working out at the Citadel track,  I rolled over to the Joe (Joe Riley Stadium) and took in a few innings of the Citadel vs Wright St.

I bumped into this lady and her ultra squeaky three wheeler a few times that morning and couldn't resist her uniqueness.

The highlight of the day! Pearlz Oyster bar opened a second location in West Ashley last year and to celebrate their one year anniversary threw an oyster roast and $1 high life cans.  I attended with a couple girls from work and we tore that place up. Of course oyster shots were plentiful, I know Chuck remembers those tasty slimy treats. The oyster roast ended at 5 so we bought a case of beer, went out to the pier by my house and drank along the water.  The night ended at..drum roll... the Moose! Where we noshed duck fat fries and watched the Tarheels put a beat down on Maryland. Another successful Sunday funday.

Distant Relative of Jett!

He may be the only living creature in Charleston not looking forward to summer.

Sunday Funday...kind of

Here are a few photos from a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Charleston. The city does a monthly pedestrian friendly, "Second Sunday on King", which on the second Sunday of the month they close lower King St. to all vehicle traffic and allow restaurants to open dine in the street. One of the bike groups that I have participated in even valets bicycles at the corner of King and Calhoun. It has been a dreary couple of weeks so it was nice getting out to enjoy the weather and people watch.

New addition to the Gay household

Winnie the puppy!  Frankie's (Tara's brother) dog had a litter of 14 puppies and of course she just had to have one. She brought the little girl by the station yesterday and was super cute.
The happy family - Tara, Winnie, and Michael.

Lovely Winter Folk Tune

Fleet Foxes = amazing band. I've enjoyed this album for awhile, but this song in particular is beyond great. Even though it's entitled "Blue Ridge Mountains" it reminds me of cold snowy winters back home. Especially after mom sent me that text pic of Jett freezing his buns off in the front yard. Hence the chorus lines of "In the quivering forest, where the shivering dogs rests" :)

Super Bowl XLV

Party host (Chris) and hostess (Jolene) and the entertainment of the night (Matilda)
Jolene is a former co-worker of Meaghan and Scott (at Bluegreen a resort/timeshare company). Meaghan still baby sits for Mattie and she and her friends spoil the hell out of this little girl. Could only imagine if Joslyn visited again, Meaghan was obsessed with her as well.

A look in on the party action... very mellow, tons of beer and food!  strong emphasis on food. A very random mix of people, mostly current and past co-workers at Bluegreen.

Mattie was impressed with my velcro kicks. Notice the tu-tu and monkey pj's. The girls gave her that tu-tu and she refused to take it off all night.

Inside Zocalo

Grand opening was last night. Was at FD so no go for me, but I heard it went well.
Here are a couple pics of the inside. These were taken earlier in the week so it is still in progress.
We even aquired a mascot in our agave plant. He was all over the tequila bottles then just jumped back in his plant.
